Update to the Working Procedures - Call for Experts

Advisory Group to Recommend an Update to the Working Procedures
Lyon, France
11-13 February 2019

CALL FOR EXPERTS
Closing date: 23 June 2018

IARC is seeking scientists who wish to be considered for membership in the Advisory Group to Recommend an Update to the Working Procedures. Advisory Group Members prepare and review preliminary pre-meeting materials and participate in a 3-day meeting regarding the Working Procedures of the IARC Handbooks.

Eligible scientists generally have published significant research related to primary and/or secondary cancer prevention. IARC is especially interested in finding (a) scientists whose relevant work may not be found through standard literature searches, and (b) scientists who work in countries that have been under-represented in past IARC Handbooks meetings.

Self-nominations are encouraged.  Each nomination should include:

  1. Curriculum vitae of the proposed candidate.

  2. Separate list of the candidate's publications that are relevant to the study and evaluation of the cancer-preventive effects of interventions or strategies. Sponsors of each article published during the past 4 years should be identified on the WHO Declaration of Interests.

  3. WHO Declaration of Interests to disclose associations with parties that have an interest in any intervention or strategy that may be reviewed by the IARC Handbooks programme.

Please send your nominations before the closing date by e-mail (hbworkingproc@iarc.fr) or fax (+33-472.73.83.19).

Public nominations will be combined with those identified by IARC. IARC will select an interdisciplinary Advisory Group based on (a) knowledge and experience, and (b) absence of real or apparent conflicts of interests. Consideration will also be given to demographic diversity. Self-nominees will be informed about the outcome after the closing date. IARC will send preliminary invitations to the experts selected. Their names and principal affiliations will be available on this website.

Thank you for your interest in the IARC Handbooks.
